If you have a free Sunday and you happen to be in the Cape Town/Stellenbosch area and you haven't over done it the night before, then make your way to Clos Malverne's restaurant for the wine pairing of your life. A four course meal will start off with a glass of sparking rose, followed up by the most wonderful cuisine you can taste outside of the European Continent ( yes, I am a pretend snob), each course coupled with a carefully selected wine to suit. My favourite wine: Devonet Merlot (Pinotage). And, if springbok is being served, definitely have it with a glass of the Devonet Merlot. You'll lose your sh!t when the bill comes and your four course meal only costs 20 euros. Yup. Just 20 euros.
I loved everything about Clos Malverne--even the fact that the Chef greeted each waiter as he/she left the kitchen and inspected every dish before it could be taken to the tables. Amazing service too! What I hated? My friend and I (two non-nationals) were the only black people dining at a full restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 2016. South Africa get your sh!t together. That could never happen in Jamaica. Nevaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!
